This converter re-encodes a WebP — or any image your browser can decode — into a JPEG. The reason to do it is compatibility: JPEG is read by every browser, editor, printer and device, where a few older tools still stumble on WebP.
There is one thing to know going in: JPEG has no alpha channel, so the tool paints a white background behind your image before encoding. Anything that was transparent becomes white.
Drop or pick an image. It is decoded and drawn onto a canvas at its native size. The canvas is filled white first, so transparency flattens to white rather than black.
On download, the canvas is encoded to JPEG at quality 0.92 by the browser and saved with a .jpg extension, keeping your original base name.
As with any canvas re-encode, EXIF and GPS metadata are dropped, so the JPEG you get is clean of camera and location tags.

JPEG is lossy. Encoding at quality 0.92 is high, but if your source WebP was itself lossy you are stacking a second round of compression — generation loss — and fine detail can soften.
Transparency is lost by design. A WebP or PNG with transparent areas comes out with those areas white; there is no way around it, because JPEG has no alpha channel.
The picture is not resized — the same pixel dimensions go in and out. The JPEG can be larger or smaller than the WebP depending on the image; WebP usually compresses better, so a JPEG of the same picture is often bigger.
Different browsers use different JPEG encoders, so the exact file size varies a little between them.
Hand a JPEG to email, older software or a printer that does not understand WebP.
Some forms and marketplaces still accept only JPG; this gives you one.
