Standards & references
- Impact (the meme font) — Designed by Geoffrey Lee in 1965 and shipped with Windows, Impact became the default meme font because it was installed everywhere and reads clearly at small sizes.

Accuracy & Limitations
It uses Impact, the classic meme font, with a black outline so the white text stays readable over any background. If your device lacks Impact, the browser falls back to a similar heavy font such as Arial Black.

Why is the text always uppercase?
