Accuracy & Limitations
The border is a single solid colour of uniform width on all four sides. There is no gradient, pattern, texture or per-side control in this tool.
The output is larger than the input: a border of width B adds 2 times B to both the width and the height. A 1000 by 800 image with a 20-pixel border becomes 1040 by 840.
The image inside the frame is unchanged — the border is added around it, not over it, so none of the picture is covered.
The result is a lossless PNG. If you need a smaller file afterwards, run it through a converter or compressor.
