A distraction-free notepad in your browser that saves automatically as you type — and downloads as a text file when you want a copy. Nothing leaves your device.
Your browser is preparing the tool. It runs 100% locally.
Start typing and your note is saved automatically in this browser, so it is still there when you come back. A word count updates as you write, and a single click downloads the note as a plain .txt file. The note is stored on this device only — it is not synced to the cloud or to your other devices, and clearing your browser data erases it. It runs entirely in your browser.
Just write — there is no save button to remember. Every keystroke is stored in the browser, so closing the tab and returning later brings your note back. A live word count sits below, and you can download the whole note as a .txt file or clear it whenever you like.
It is built for quick, private notes: a scratchpad for ideas, a place to draft a message, or somewhere to paste and clean up text. Because it keeps everything on your device, there is no account and nothing is uploaded.
As you type, the note is written to your browser's local storage — a small per-site store that persists between visits. When you open the page again in the same browser, the note is read back and shown. The download button packages the current text into a .txt file your device saves normally.
Local storage is tied to this browser on this device and to this site. It is not shared with other browsers, other devices or other websites, and it is never sent to a server — which is what makes the notepad both private and offline-friendly, but also why a note here is not a backup.
Your note is stored only in this browser on this device, using local storage. It is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else — including us — can read it.
Because it is stored locally and unencrypted, anyone with access to this browser profile can open the note, and any script running on the page could read it. Do not keep passwords or sensitive secrets here, and download a copy if the note matters, since clearing your browser data deletes it.
| Saving | automatic, on every change |
|---|---|
| Storage | browser local storage (this device only) |
| Synced | no — not shared across devices or browsers |
| Export | download as a .txt file |
| Word count | live as you type |
| Capacity | a few megabytes of text (browser limit) |
| Where it runs | In your browser — nothing uploaded |
The note lives in this browser on this device only. It will not appear in another browser, on your phone, or after you switch computers — local storage is not synced. To carry a note elsewhere, download the .txt and open it there.
Clearing your browser data erases the note. If you clear cookies and site data, use a privacy mode, or a tool wipes site storage, the note is gone. Download a copy of anything you want to keep.
Storage is limited — usually a few megabytes per site, less on some mobile browsers. That is room for a very long document of plain text, but not for huge files; the note is text only, with no images or formatting.
It is not a backup or a sync service. There is no version history and no recovery if the storage is cleared. Treat it as a convenient scratchpad and export anything important.
Private browsing does not persist. In an incognito or private window, the note is kept only until you close the window, then discarded.
Jot ideas, lists or reminders without opening an app.
Write a message or paragraph before pasting it elsewhere.
Paste, tidy and copy text in a plain, distraction-free space.
Hold text between tasks, then download it if it matters.
Need your notes on every device? Use a cloud notes app that syncs. Want a permanent copy? Download the .txt and store it in your files. Need formatting? Use a document editor.
Auto-saves to the browser's local storage on this device only — never uploaded — so it is private but not synced and not a backup; it is explicit that clearing browser data erases the note, that storage is unencrypted (no secrets), and that a downloaded .txt is the way to keep a real copy.
