Turn a base word into username ideas with prefixes, suffixes and numbers — then check availability yourself, in your browser.
Your browser is preparing the tool. It runs 100% locally.
The Username Generator turns a base word into 18 handle ideas by adding prefixes (the, real, official), suffixes (hq, world, creator) with a separator, or a random number. It strips your base to letters and numbers and shows each idea with an @. It runs in your browser — and crucially, it does not check whether a username is free on any platform, so verify each one yourself.
It brainstorms username variations around a word you choose, so you have options when your first choice is taken.
It is an idea generator, not an availability checker. Every platform is different, so you still have to try each handle where you want it.
It lowercases your base word and removes anything that is not a letter or digit, then builds 18 variations by adding a prefix, a suffix, or a random number.
It removes duplicates and shows each idea prefixed with an @.
Base word = your input, letters and digits only
Idea = a prefix + base, or base + a suffix, or base + a random number
18 ideas, deduplicated, each shown with an @'alex' → @therealalex, @alex_creator, @alex482, …It does not check whether any handle is free. Availability differs on every platform, so test each one where you want to use it.
Your base word is processed in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or logged.
There is no account or history; closing the tab clears your input.
| Input | A base word |
|---|---|
| Cleans | Keeps letters and digits only |
| Variations | Prefix, suffix or random number |
| Output | 18 ideas, deduplicated, with an @ |
| Checks availability? | No — verify each yourself |
| Processing | 100% in-browser |
It does not check availability on Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube or anywhere else — you must try each handle yourself.
It strips your base word to letters and digits, so spaces, emoji and punctuation in your input are removed before building ideas.
It produces 18 ideas using a prefix, a suffix or a random number, then removes duplicates; the @ is shown for display and is not part of the handle on every platform.
The random numbers use the browser's ordinary random generator, which is fine for ideas but not a uniqueness guarantee.
Find close variations of a handle you wanted but could not get.
Brainstorm a consistent handle to try across platforms.
Add prefixes or suffixes like official, hq or creator to a brand word.
Generate a batch of options to scan and shortlist.
Try your favourites directly on each platform's sign-up or settings page to check availability. For a styled display name, the Fancy Text Generator can add a flourish.
Documented against this tool's own code: it cleans your base word and builds 18 prefix, suffix and number variations — so the page is clear it generates ideas only and never checks whether a handle is free.
